Making the most of your first hour at work.

  Any business would flourish if the manager or owner has a clear sense of time management.   Time management ensures the accomplishment of many tasks, especially the ones clearly prioritized.   This process can begin with a better consideration of what one can do during the first hour at work.   Aside from there being less interruptions during that first hour at the office, your mind is unburdened by many other stimuli from the day’s progress.   That first hour may just be the ideal time or “golden hour” to really focus on getting things done.   Because what usually happens is that a lot of people begin at a snail’s pace, opening their email and checking the tasks that await them.   This can be a huge waste of time, as one could actually plan the night before the lineup of the day’s work.   The worker can jot down the most urgent tasks to be done as soon as he or she steps into the office.   This mindset alone can be immensely benefi...

Some advice when starting at a new job.

Life is short and sometimes we’ve to embrace change and take advantage of that clean slate.   How we approach that new job is key in taking advantage of the fresh start and doing away with any “ bad habit ” that we developed in the previous one.   Remember that changing jobs gives you the opportunity to be a new person.   It’s a chance to become that person you’ve always admired, the same one that delivers great service, is loved and admired by others, and is truly a cut above the rest.   We suggest that one meditate on this new persona early, even before the first day in the new job.   This is not disingenuous at all, but a window for self-improvement.   You need not be that timid, over-stressed worker again but somebody who truly gets things done.   Focus on your positive traits and shed the skin of the past.   Your new work is your next chapter, and you are the author of your future.   Write it well, even if the change is d...
